Outdoor sports
If you fancy an activity holiday
or a destination that has outdoor sports on tap, the Costa de la Luz and
Andalucia have something for everyone. Tarifa has a reputation for the
best wind and kite surfing beaches including Playa Los Lances and Playa
Valdevaqueros. It is no wonder it is often called the windsurfing capital
of Europe. If you would rather catch the action under the waves, the Mediterranean
stretch near Guadiaro is the place to go for snorkelling and diving. If
you like your sport with a little less adrenalin, the National Parks in
the Bay of Cádiz and Laguna de Fuente de Piedra near El Rompido
are perfect for bird-spotting, nature hikes and wildlife walks. |

 If
you would rather practice your swing, there are a number of established
golf courses along the coast. Or if you like to amble through breathtaking
mountain scenery on horseback, try a horse-riding trek.
Sun, sea and sand
Most of the Costa de la Luz is beach
and if you go at the right time of year, you may just get a secluded spot
all to yourself. The busiest time of year is July and August when the locals
from Huelva and Seville descend on the beaches to soak up the summer sun.
The rest of the year the beaches are less crowded. Popular beach towns
to visit are Isla Cristina, La Antilla, El Rompido, Punta Umbria and Matalascañas.
The beaches along the Cadiz stretch are a little more windswept but are
well worth a visit with stunning coves, towering cliffs and quaint fishing

is ideal for a week or a weekend. Situated in the historic old quarter
of this hilltop town, the house faces the lake and has a panoramic view
of the valley floor. A traditional village house it is comfortably furnished
with an open plan layout of living room, dining room new kitchen and terrace
on the main floor, and newly furnished double bedroom with shower and a
twin bedroom and bathroom downstairs off a central terrace. You can enjoy
your meals on the kitchen terrace, and you are guaranteed a table with
a view as you are 200 meters above the valley floor with the fields and
olive groves spread out below. Straight in front of you is the Lago de
Arcos with the Guadelete river running down from between the distant sierras.

Romantic moorish/andalusian
farmhouse, between very quiet and sandy beaches and a pine forest Nature
reserve on the still untouched Costa de la Luz. Cortijo 2 is a large house
with thatch roofing. It has 2 private areas, one on each side of the house,each
with a rubber tree. The front area is lawn, - the back is a pavement patio
under the shade of a jacaranda tree. Downstairs there is an ample, open
kitchen, and the large salon with wood- burning stove and chimney. There
is also the double bedroom with an adjoining toilet and wash basin. Upstairs
there is the bathroom, one twin bedroom, and one double bedroom. The double
bed can perhaps be exchanged for 2 twins if requested. All the top floor
is blessed with the special atmosphere given by the thatch – a special
touch – made in true Andaluz style. A door leads to a large sunny, secluded
balcony where one can sunbathe and read in private. Sleeps 6. |

Romantic andalusian farmhouse/studio,
between very quiet and sandy beaches and a national Park with pinewoods
on the still untouched Costa de la Luz. This is a ground floor studio cottage
apartment. It has 2 exterior doors; one opening into the kitchen from a
small patio, the other opening out from the salon onto the garden. It may
be possible to change twin beds / double bed on request. Cortijo 4 is the
most comfortable of the smaller cottages having a integrated salon and
is perfect for a small family as there is the sofa bed. Please note that
there is an open division between the salon and sleeping area. ie some
privacy but not total. Please check age of children with the owner to verify
possible hazzards in the garden. ie pool, stairs etc. Cortijo No. 7 is
above No. 4, and the 2 are perfect for pairs of friends, family etc. In
fact Los Cortijos generally is perfect for groups of friends who can mingle

Park (20 minutes away). Situated on the Costa de la Luz near to the town
of Huelva in the centre of three villages where you have a good selection
of bars and restaurants to choose from. The swimming pool is 8 metres by
4 metres surrounded by a very large tiled area with sun loungers and those

basket ball net and a football net. The lounge has a log burning fire for

to deep purple of the olive groves and the texture from carpets of multi
coloued spring flowers to the deep greens and browns of the woodland.
