An Evening in London: An Ideal Night on the Tiles

Visit England - Return to Travel Articles

There’s nothing better than being able to shut the door to the office for the weekend, to enjoy a well-earned break. Whether you have plans to spend it with your little ones or you’re heading for the bright lights of London to enjoy what’s on offer there, having the chance to let go every once in a while is much-needed.

With several reasonably priced hotels available in London, you will be happy in the knowledge that your evening’s accommodation doesn’t have to cost the Earth. In a city where things aren’t cheap, having as much spending money as possible is the best way to go, so, unless you’re made of money, spending a modest amount on a hotel is the best way forward.

So what do you have planned for your stay in the city? Are you visiting with a bunch of like-minded friends or are you heading for the capital for a romantic evening with your other half? Whatever your reason for the trip, there are plenty of options available to ensure that your visit is as rewarding as possible.

Fancy a night on the tiles? Look no further than London. Its versatility will ensure that, whatever your style, there will be plenty of venues to accommodate you. From delectable cuisine to late night clubs, you can be sure that if an evening of merriment is what you’re after, you’ve come to the right place.

Start the evening off on the right foot and head out for an aperitif. Choose one of the trendy speakeasy bars for an incredible atmosphere, such as Nightjar in Shoreditch which offers a wide variety of drinks to tantalise your retro tastebuds. It’s a seated bar, so make sure you call them to book yourselves in before turning up on the doorstep, to avoid disappointment. Be transported back to the Prohibition Era and enjoy some cocktails with some classic tunes overhead.

With a huge range of restaurants scattered around the city to suit all palates, you can rest assured that whatever grub you fancy, there’ll be something to suit your tastes and budget. If your visit benefits from good weather, consider dining al fresco for an experience to remember.

If you choose an early dinner, or perhaps even a late one, you’ll be able to fit in a show on the West End. Theatreland is a haven for everyone who loves a live performance and with so many stage productions on offer, there’s bound to be something for you.

Planning on staying out until the early hours? There are some fantastic clubs in the capital – some of which you may be able to spot some celebs – such as the glitzy DSTRKT and Mahiki. Of course, the world-famous Ministry of Sound will undoubtedly have its doors open for you if you’re into your dance anthems, while smaller, more intimate venues, are rife in trendy Shoreditch.

Whatever you plan to do with your evening in the city, you’re perfectly placed for an unforgettable break away from the norm. Visit Travelodge.co.uk to find cheap hotels in London and start organising your well-earned weekend break.
