Stansted Airport, situated close to London, is by far the UKís fastest growing airport with over 14 million travelers passing through its gates each year. Even so, the airport ranks at number four in terms of Londonís busiest airports. Stansted provides its passengers with flights to more than 100 interesting and varied destinations, being used by both holiday travelers and business people.

Stansted Airport Terminal, Stansted, Essex, England, United KingdomOne terminal building is utilized to conduct all of the busy traffic into and out of the airport. Arrivals and departures are located on the same level with clearly designated sections for each. The airport also maintains a monorail travel system for fast and easy access to the terminal area. In addition to this, there are various facilities available for passengers to pass the time or to pick up those last-minute holiday items.

Financial services are conducted by way of various cash automated teller machines located throughout the airport. There are several currency exchange facilities available to assist with converting money for travelers. A small shopping center houses duty free shops that carry everything from souvenirs to something for a passenger to read during the flight. Buffet style restaurants are scattered about the airport. The departures section of the terminal features two full scale bars for passengers.

There are several ways for passengers to arrive at Stansted airport. Car travelers will take a route where the airport is a mere 4 miles down the road from Bishop's Stortford at junction 8 of the M11. Bus services operate on a regular route between Bishops Stortford and the airport. Finally, the airportís own railway system provides transportation to main railway stations in the London area.

All of this can seem confusing and slightly overwhelming for foreign travelers into the airport. For that reason, making use of car hire Stansted, is highly recommended. All airport car hire desks can be found in the departure section of the terminal.

Another ideal reason to select the services of car hire companies is that taxi services in London, whilst very convenient, can become rather expensive.

Many of the car hire companies maintain websites where travelers can browse the types of cars available. Large fleets of cars are also maintained which makes car hire service effortless and economical. Time periods for rental are anywhere from one day to an entire week or more. Many provide discounts on time periods of three days or more at one time.

Stansted airport car hire services give the opportunity for travelers to explore unforgettable sights. As well as the many attractions, theatres and shopping opportunities available in London itself, other interesting destination points fairly close to Stansted include the rolling hills of the green Essex countryside and Hatfield Forest National Nature Reserve. While in the area, take a few extra moments to explore Hatfield House in Hertfordshire where Queen Elizabeth I spent her childhood.

There are plenty more memorable sights to behold simply by electing to use a car hire service.
