Take a spring or summer cruise down the rivers of Europe
Home

As we head for spring and summer in Europe, what are your plans?  Thinking of a different sort of getaway with more varied sights and sounds?
River cruises in Europe are among the best ways of enjoying a holiday, relaxing on board and watching the neverending parade of sights passing you by.  You will be spoiled for choice with destinations too, as well as the number of days spent cruising, with options to suit everyone.

For instance how about taking an eight day "Treasures of the Rhine" cruise.

On this cruise you travel from Nuremberg in Germany, down the magnificent Rhine all the way to Amsterdam in Holland.

Just imagine a mix of beautiful medieval towns and villages, many topped with spectacular castles, followed by green and lush river banks dotted with the historic Dutch windmills.  Enjoy that great German beer and food and a choice of walking tours along the way.

If you have 15 days to spare, try the magnificent "Jewels of Europe" option, cruising along from Amsterdam and visiting stunning medieval villages on your way through Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic to the magnificent city of Budapest.  Photographers will be in heaven as the most beautiful buildings pass by and while you explore all the fascinating corners of the cities on your walking tours.  End up in Budapest, Europe's "Pearl of the Danube" for a fascinating stay before heading for home, completely refreshed.

If you are not quite ready to head home, you could then indulge yourself in a "Black Sea Explorer" river cruise.

Start off in Budapest, heading through the magnificent "Iron Gate" (pictured left), a river gorge set amongst the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains forming a natural border between Serbia and Romania and then traveling down to the Black Sea and Bucharest.

While in Bucharest, if you are a vampire buff, travel to Bran Castle, the legendary home of Count Dracula and explore his lair.

History, beautiful scenery, magnificent cities and villages await you as you cruise along in luxury, all the while indulging your taste for legendary food, beers and wines all the way through.
